Rue Camille (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates https://rue-camille.com (the “Site”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information when you visit our Site, purchase our products, interact with our advertising, or contact us. It also explains your privacy choices and rights.

For privacy questions or requests, contact contact.ruecamille@gmail.com.

1. Personal Information We Collect

We collect personal information from you, automatically through your use of the Site, and from service providers and business partners involved in operating our store.

Depending on how you interact with us, this information may include:

  • Contact information: your name, email address, telephone number, billing address, and shipping address.

  • Order and transaction information: products purchased, order value, payment status, shipping details, returns, refunds, and purchase history.

  • Account information: information you provide when creating or using a customer account, where available.

  • Communications: messages, customer service requests, and information you provide when contacting us.

  • Device and browsing information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, cookie identifiers, referring pages, pages viewed, product interactions, searches, cart activity, and checkout activity.

  • Marketing preferences: your subscription status, consent records, advertising choices, and interactions with our marketing communications.

Payment information is processed by our payment providers, including Shopify Payments or other payment methods available at checkout. The information we receive depends on the payment method used and generally includes transaction confirmations and limited payment details.

2. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information to:

  • Process payments and fulfill orders.

  • Arrange deliveries, returns, exchanges, and refunds.

  • Provide customer support and respond to questions.

  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our Site.

  • Remember preferences and maintain shopping carts.

  • Detect and prevent fraud, unauthorized transactions, and misuse.

  • Analyze store performance and understand how visitors use the Site.

  • Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and other service messages.

  • Send marketing communications where permitted by law and consistent with your preferences.

  • Display relevant advertising, measure advertising effectiveness, and understand whether advertising leads to purchases.

  • Meet legal, accounting, tax, and recordkeeping obligations and resolve disputes.

Providing information to complete an order does not, by itself, mean that you agree to receive marketing emails or text messages.

3. Shopify and Payment Services

Our store is hosted on Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform we use to sell products and process orders.

Shopify and its service providers process personal information to operate the store and provide services such as checkout, payments, hosting, security, and fraud prevention. If you choose Shop Pay or another accelerated payment method, that service also processes information under its applicable privacy terms.

When Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled for our store, Shopify may use information about your interactions with our store together with information from your interactions with Shopify and other merchants to provide enhanced services, including personalization, analytics, fraud prevention, and advertising. For these activities, Shopify processes information as described in its own privacy policy.

Payment providers may retain transaction information for purposes such as processing payments, preventing fraud, handling disputes, and meeting legal obligations. Completing an order does not mean that all associated transaction information is immediately deleted.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers and advertising partners use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.

These technologies may serve the following purposes:

  • Essential functions: maintaining your cart, enabling checkout, managing security, and remembering privacy choices.

  • Preferences: remembering settings and improving your shopping experience.

  • Analytics: understanding how visitors interact with the Site and improving its performance.

  • Advertising: measuring campaigns, matching interactions to advertising, and displaying relevant advertisements.

Some technologies operate through your browser. Others involve information sent between servers, such as advertising conversion information sent through an API.

Where legally required, we request consent before using nonessential cookies or similar technologies. You can manage available choices through our cookie banner or privacy controls.

Browser settings may also allow you to delete or block cookies. Blocking certain cookies can affect store features. Browser cookie controls do not necessarily prevent all server-based data sharing; use the privacy choices described below to manage advertising-related sharing.

5. Meta Advertising and Conversion Measurement

We use Facebook and Instagram advertising tools provided by Meta, including the Meta Pixel, Conversions API, and customer matching features available through our Shopify integration.

Subject to applicable law and your privacy choices, these tools collect or receive information about your interactions with our store, such as page visits, product views, searches, cart additions, checkout activity, and completed purchases.

Information shared may include:

  • Product identifiers, order value, and currency.

  • Event dates, times, and relevant page URLs.

  • IP address, browser information, and cookie or advertising identifiers.

  • Contact information you provide, such as your email address, telephone number, name, or address information, where available and permitted.

Certain identifiers, such as email addresses and telephone numbers, may be hashed before transmission for customer matching. Hashing transforms these identifiers but does not make them anonymous.

We use these tools to measure advertising performance, attribute purchases to advertisements, improve campaign delivery, and reach relevant audiences. Meta may associate information it receives with accounts on its services and use it under its own terms and privacy policy.

We do not send complete payment card numbers, card security codes, or account passwords to Meta through these advertising tools.

For more information, see the Meta Privacy Policy.

Your advertising and data-sharing choices are explained in Section 7.

6. When We Disclose Personal Information

We disclose personal information as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to:

  • Shopify and operational service providers: hosting, payments, security, customer support, and store administration.

  • Fulfillment and delivery partners: parties involved in preparing, shipping, delivering, or returning orders.

  • Marketing and analytics providers: parties that help deliver communications, analyze activity, and measure marketing.

  • Advertising partners, including Meta: for advertising measurement, customer matching, and relevant advertising, subject to applicable law and privacy choices.

  • Professional advisers and authorities: when necessary to comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, protect rights, or address fraud and security issues.

  • Parties to a business transaction: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to applicable safeguards.

  • Other parties at your request or with your consent.

Some providers process information on our behalf. Others, including certain payment and advertising providers, may also process information for their own purposes under their privacy policies.

7. Advertising Choices and U.S. Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and which laws apply to our business, you may have the right to:

  • Access or obtain a copy of personal information we hold about you.

  • Correct inaccurate personal information.

  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to applicable exceptions.

  • Obtain information about our collection, use, and disclosure practices.

  • Opt out of the sale of personal information, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, or processing for targeted advertising.

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

  • Appeal a decision concerning a privacy request, where applicable.

Sharing information with advertising partners for relevant advertising and measurement may qualify as a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” under certain U.S. state privacy laws, even when no money is exchanged.

DO NOT SELL OR SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION

You can also submit privacy requests to contact.ruecamille@gmail.com.

Where required by applicable law, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control, as requests to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising for the browser or device transmitting the signal.

Some choices are specific to your browser or device. If you use another browser or device, or clear cookies, you may need to make your choices again.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. Where permitted by law, an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification of their authority.

We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. To appeal a decision, contact us using the email address above and explain the request you would like reviewed.

Opting out of targeted advertising does not eliminate all advertisements or prevent processing necessary to fulfill orders, protect our store, or meet legal obligations.

8. Email and SMS Communications

Email

Where permitted by law and consistent with your preferences, we may send emails about our products, offers, and store updates.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by contacting contact.ruecamille@gmail.com. We may still send necessary service messages, such as order confirmations and shipping updates.

SMS, if offered

If you subscribe to our SMS marketing program, we may send recurring automated marketing messages to the telephone number you provide, based on the consent obtained when you subscribe. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

You can unsubscribe by replying STOP or by communicating your request through another reasonable means, including contacting contact.ruecamille@gmail.com. We may send a nonmarketing message confirming your opt-out. For assistance, contact the same email address.

We do not sell or share SMS marketing opt-in data or consent with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may disclose this information to providers that operate the messaging program on our behalf or when required by law.

9. Retention and Security

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

Retention depends on factors such as order fulfillment, customer support needs, account activity, returns and warranties, fraud prevention, legal and tax obligations, and the establishment or defense of legal claims.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. No transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Please do not send complete payment card details or other sensitive information through ordinary email.

10. International Processing

We, Shopify, and our service providers may process or store personal information in the United States and other countries where we or they operate.

Privacy laws in those countries may differ from those in your location. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use the safeguards required for those transfers.

11. Children’s Privacy

Our store is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 or knowingly sell or share their personal information for targeted advertising.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact contact.ruecamille@gmail.com so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.

12. Third-Party Links

Our Site may contain links to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

We encourage you to review those policies before providing personal information. This policy continues to apply to personal information we collect and process, including information associated with purchases completed using third-party payment services.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services, practices, or legal obligations.

We will publish the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before implementing changes.
